It was a total pleasure to be a part of The British Wheel Of Yoga Summer School at Leicester university. Faculty included Paul Fox, Chair Of BWY. Sriram, a student of Sri TKV Desikachar, who studied with him in Chennai for many years. The wonderful Wendy Haring with her beautiful vedic chanting voice. Hamish Hendry teaching Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga, and the incredibly knowledgable Dr Mark Singleton, author of The Roots Of Yoga. Discussions were lively, informative and most of all fun and accessible. A fantastic 2 weeks was had by 20 yogis at the palm tree yoga centre Kerala. 2 hours of yoga in the morning, facing out towards the palm fringed beach, and then restorative yoga as the sun went down. (Thanks to my Colleague Abra) Palm tree is perfect for chilling out, kicking off your shoes walking on the beach and enjoying wonderful vegetarian curries. Our lovely group had a really great time, and came back with memories of Indian dancing, tuk tuk rides, bargaining for gifts, having lots of lovely dresses made at the tailors,…

TKV Desikachar, the son of legendary T. Krishnamacharya, died on the 8th August 2016 at the age of 78. He is one of the last students from the direct Krishanmacharya lineage, nephew of B.K.S.
